Artist Bio

Miranda Powers was born and raised in the small midwestern town of Lebanon, Missouri. She has her first acting opportunity when she was four years old, playing a ‘mouse’ and a ‘child’ in the community production of The Pied Piper. Enjoying the production so much, she got involved in various church skits and community shows until high school where Miranda had the chance to act in more challenging productions. When asked what she wanted to pursuit after high school, Miranda said she wanted to be a high school acting teacher even though she knew she wanted to be a professional actress. After her first week of undergraduate classes, she changed her major to her true passion and never looked back. Graduating with her BFA in Theatre Performance, Miranda was hungry for more. Feeling the urge to seek out more professional training, she auditioned for grad school and chose The New School for Drama out of the opportunities presented to her. She now holds her Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from The New School and will forever cherish her classmates and professors who taught her so much. After school, Miranda continued to act professionally as well as personal train at a private boutique facility in Park Slope. Her current endeavors include combining her love for acting and her skills of physical fitness in pursuit of sword fighting (she is on an Armored Combat team) and stunt work.
