BIOGRAPHY

Frank L. Humphrey III is a classically trained tenor and actor. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music. While there, he was a member of The American Music Theatre Ensemble and a Scott Edward Oakley Scholarship recipient.


Mr. Humphrey was most recently seen performing the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show at The Warehouse Theatre in Greenville, South Carolina, where he garnered a Broadway World Award nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Musical (Professional) S.C. and Ken Davenport’s Broadway Spotted’s Next Big Star(Off-Broadway Top 10). He has also worked in television where he interpreted the role of Gabriel in All the Queen’s Men. Recently, he returned to BET+ in Zatima and joined the Missoula Symphony for their Broadway Blockbusters concert.


Other recent stage acting credits are Papa Ge in Once on This Island with 54 Below, Peyton in A Christmas Deed with Broadway on Demand, Freedom in Snapped-Shot with Eden Theatre Company, Eddie in Sister Act with Iron Bridge Theatre, and Jefferson in A Lesson Before Dying with Theatre Jacksonville.


As a vocalist, Mr. Humphrey co-headlined at The First Lady’s Luncheon in Washington, D.C. with Grammy-Award Winning Artist Gloria Estefan for First Lady of The United States, Michelle Obama. He performed internationally on Aida Cruises touring Western Europe as the Lead Male Vocalist, joined the La Caroline Rock Opera Touras Aca, and performed as the Tenor in The Gospel Jubilee at The Wohlfarht Haus Dinner Theatre.


Mr. Humphrey has won several 1st Place awards, including The Grady-Rayam Competition, NAACP Act-So Award, and The Gershwin International Music Competition for Music Theatre and Classical. He is a proud member of The Actors’ Equity Association and a BMI Singer/Songwriter.
