BIOGRAPHY

South African baritone Adam du Plessis has been recognized for his powerful performances on US and international stages. Upcoming, he’ll be performing as Happy Man in the national tour of Pretty Woman. Last season, he starred as the demanding director Ron Carlisle in the 1st national tour of Tootsieand returned to Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre in Hello Dollyand Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.


Adam’s other national tour credits include the crass Don in Kinky Boots and Drake in Annie. He made his long awaiting off-Broadway debut as Radcliff in Columbia: Life & Death. International tour credits include performing in the Ensemble as a Raoul alternate in the South Asian tour of The Phantom of the Opera and Galileo/ Karshoggi u/s in We Will Rock You. He also performed in the South African tour of Cats as Mukustrap/ Old Deut/ Gus and in Beauty and the Beastas the Beast and Gaston u/s.

Regional credits include Bud in Bridges of Madison County at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, Perchick in Fiddler on the Roof, Thomas/ Judas u/s in Jesus Christ Superstar, Jamie in The Last Five Years,Lionel in See How They Run, Thomas in Boys in the Photograph, Man 1 in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.


He’s also no stranger to the concert stage, performing in Tenors of Rock as well as a production vocalist on Norwegian Cruise Lines.


Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Performance from University of Cape Town.
