BIOGRAPHY

Jason Forbach, whose “commanding tenor” (The Kansas City Star) “has charisma in spades” (The Washington Post), has a career ranging across the opera, symphony, and Broadway stages.  Jason recently appeared in the National Tour of Into the Woods as Rapunzel’s Prince (Baker understudy) and as a Swing in the Broadway and NY City Center productions. He also recently performed in Princeton Festival’s Sondheim Cabaret. Jason previously appeared in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and in the 2014 Tony-nominated Broadway revival of Les Misérablesas Enjolras, reprising the role he played on the 25th Anniversary National Tour.


Jason has performed regionally with companies such as the Shakespeare Theatre Company of Washington D.C., Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Paper Mill Playhouse, 5th Avenue Theatre, The Kennedy Center, North Shore Music Theatre, Sacramento Music Circus, and Theatre Under the Stars.  He has sung on the concert stage at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Omaha Symphony, New Jersey Festival Orchestra, Las Vegas Philharmonic, and Abilene Philharmonic, and on the opera stage with Boston Lyric Opera, Fresno Opera, Opera Boston, and Central City Opera. He was a regional semifinalist for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.  Jason has also performed on T.V.’s America’s Got Talent, Good Morning America, and the 68th Annual Tony Awards.


He has three solo albums: A New Leading Man, Revolutionary, and Remembering to Dream, all now streaming on all platforms, and he has appeared on original cast albums of An American Victory and Song of Solomon, both on Broadway Records.  Jason is also an award-winning playwright and screenwriter, and he has taught master classes with universities all over the country and maintains a home studio in New York City.
